Extended Essay (EE)

Independent, self-directed research culminating in a 4,000-word paper.

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

Involves students in experiential learning through a range of activities.

Assessment

Students take written examinations at the end of the programme, which are marked by external IB examiners. Students also complete assessment tasks in the school, which are either initially marked by teachers and then moderated by external moderators or sent directly to external examiners.

Diploma Requirements

The IB Diploma is awarded to students who gain at least 24 points (out of a possible 45) and satisfy the requirements of the DP core. The points are made up of the combined scores for each subject (maximum 7 points per subject) and up to 3 points for the core components.
